Hoʻāla Design is a Hawaiian-owned business built to help carry the daily work that takes time away from other parts of life. Its systems help businesses respond to customers and keep conversations connected, with care for the person reaching out and the owner whose business is responding.

Besides the people we love, time is all we really have.
Running a business brings responsibilities that often follow an owner home. Questions need answers, calls need returning, and appointments need arranging. That work can fill the time meant for family, community, and the other parts of life.
Hoʻāla Design was built to help carry those daily responsibilities. Connected websites, chat, and voice agents help customers get answers and arrange their next step. Owners remain part of the conversation and give their attention when it is needed.
The purpose is to expand time and protect relationships. Aloha guides how the work is done, from acknowledging a person’s first inquiry to supporting the business as its needs change.
The need began in founder Koa’s own life: music, teaching, a book in progress, family, and two places to call home. Systems built to support those responsibilities became the foundation for helping other business owners make room for their own lives.
The beginning of Hoʻāla Design

Aloha means to meet life with the breath we share. Alo, to be present, face to face. Hā, the breath of life. It is a way of being, not a word you say in passing. Hoʻāla Design approaches its work through that framework. Sometimes a situation calls for ahonui, patience. Sometimes for haʻahaʻa, humility. These five values guide how the company listens, responds, and carries its responsibilities.

The name reflects the intention behind Hoʻāla Design: to help businesses find a way through daily demands that leaves more time for work, family, and community.
Technology helps carry the repetition of answering questions, keeping conversations connected, and arranging appointments. Aloha guides how that support is offered, with care for the person reaching out and the owner whose business is responding.
Business owners also carry responsibilities as family members, community members, leaders, kupuna, and kumu. The support Hoʻāla Design provides is built with those relationships in mind.

Hoʻāla Design’s founder, Koa, is a singer, teacher, writer, and Hawaiian who lives between the islands and California. Like many young Hawaiians, nā makani, the winds, carried him to the mainland for college and career. His puʻuwai, his heart, remains in Hawaiʻi as he works toward a permanent return. His life includes work in Napa and Waikīkī, lei-making workshops, voice clinics, and trauma workshops.
Being Hawaiian isn't only about being in Hawaiʻi. When you understand what Hawaiʻi truly is, you spend your whole life finding Ha-wai-i wherever you happen to be. That understanding carries into Hoʻāla Design. Aloha is a framework for life, applicable and available to all, no matter where a person or business happens to be. It shapes the company’s responsibilities to the business, the community, and the people whose time and relationships are affected by its work.
